PROFILE

I am a hard-working self-starter.  I enjoy asking questions and learning from others. I am positive, enthusiastic, dependable, organized, and creative.  I am also strategic, compassionate, patient, and have a sense of humor.  I work well with others, advocate for, and facilitate collaboration.

I enjoy building relationships and using my strategic and organizational skills to bring stakeholders together to work toward a common goal.  I find satisfaction in supporting teachers in being successful in their classroom.  I enjoy exploring the complexities of a school system and problem-solving to find the best solution for all parties involved.  I believe I can have a positive impact on students and staff as an instructional leader in a Wisconsin school.

I have worked as a library media specialist at the elementary and high school levels for the past 12 years.  This position has allowed me to develop and refine my instructional practice while observing, collaborating, and co-teaching with teachers in all subject areas. As my commitment to my own continual professional development grew I became interested in supporting the continuous learning and improvement of my colleagues.  Over the past 12 years I have assumed various leadership roles related to improving instruction in an effort to increase student achievement.  Each experience has improved my interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills and reaffirmed my belief that I have the talent, energy, and passion necessary to be an effective instructional leader.

I exemplify learning by doing.  My experiences collaborating and co-teaching with my colleagues, obtaining my Master of Education Professional Development degree in a learning community setting, earning my Principal and Director of Instruction Licenses through the WiscAd program, and serving as a cooperating teacher, mentor, committee chair, and Professional Learning Community leader have prepared me to be an effective instructional leader.  I believe I am capable of facilitating the collaboration between teachers, parents, and community members in providing the best education system possible.

According to the Clifton StrengthsFinder my signature themes are Woo, Relator, Includer, Communication, and Strategic. I believe my greatest assets include my ability to build relationships and establish trust along with my ability to identify others' strengths and effectively leverage the talents of others to improve a school system.  I am committed to life-long learning for myself and strive to inspire continuous learning and improvement in all organizations I am involved in. I also consider myself to be a digital native.

OBJECTIVE

Earn a position as instructional leader that will empower me to use my leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills to leverage the strengths of teachers, students, parents, and community resources in improving education.
